So what you have to consider is if you'll be upgrading at all (adding a GPU), as you'll end up with better performance with Intel + GPU (say an R7 260X or so). Otherwise Kaveri.

I think we're going to go for the Kaveri build but the motherboard is out of stock is there any similar ones or is that the best one out of them all?

Is it worth updating the bios and possibly overclocking the APU?

I always update the BIOS, but if it works without issues there is no real need to.

You'll have to see for yourself if you get any noticeable gains from overclocking, and how much you can overclock with the stock cooler.
