2500k Overclock

I can get 5GHz stable enough on my 2500k (see sig) and it's quite happy gaming on Bioshock infiniite and Skyrim for hours but 5 seconds in prime and I get an error.

I'll be building the rig into a 540 at the weekend using my UD4 along with a second 240mm rad in. I'll have another go and crank a few more volts in to see how stable I can get it at 5GHz.

Day to day OC is 4.5GHz with absolutely everything else set to default apart from the ram timings at 9-10-10-21 from 11-11-11-28 +0.05v

the hottest core gets to 82c on ibt with memory on maximum

Surprised that you can keep it at that level with stock cooler. Even though I would consider over 80 too high, but of course nothing taxes the CPU as much as IBT does anyway, so probably sitting at 60-70 during high gaming moments. Still, the stock cooler is fugly

I had another go at OCing my 2500k tonight. I reset the bios settings and went for 50x multiplier, PLL overvolt enabled, LLC @ regular (0%), phase and duty control at extreme and everything else on auto. I seem to be stable so far, only played 30 mins of BF4 but had no problems. Thing is with core voltage at auto it was hitting 1.544v max, temp topped out at 65. I know that voltage is rather high for the 2500k but if my temps dont go above 65 do we think this will be ok for the next 6-12 months until I upgrade? Or do I run risk of killing the cpu at this voltage?

I should add, BF4 was definitely smoother at 5.0GHz over 4.5GHz. Absolutely 100% noticeably smoother!
