I recently decided to push my 2500k a bit more, from 4.5Ghz to 4.7Ghz. I tried for 4.8Ghz, but it wasn't stable at 1.4v, so I settled for 4.7Ghz.

At 4.7Ghz my PC usually fails to boot on a cold boot; it restarts itself during post and then usually fails to post after the restart. It can sometimes take a few tries to get it going. Is this just a simple case of not enough volts? It's stable in gaming and prime so I was thinking it might be something else.

Cheers.

Yeah i find this also, i dont get failed benchmarks or crashing games, i get random drivers stopping when idle or restarts like you said till i get enough volts into it.

edit: ive got used to getting it stable in benchamarks and games, then adding another .01 volts just to make sure its rock solid.

I had this issue with mine if you look at the posts where 8 oack helped me it should give you an idea.

8 pack told me it was to do with the memory controller and I had to up the voltages for it.
