Personally I could not give a monkeys about a Cinebench result.

Real world tests is what I want to see and overclocks.

surely a 2500k at say 5ghz is still very capable for gaming ?

It is but not many people will be able to run at 5ghz.

Though a "modest" overclock and its still decent for gaming, just not as good as the newer processors.

Real world tests is what I want to see.

We had one months ago - a 8C/16T Ryzen qualification sample running at 3.1GHZ to 3.3GHZ was 10% behind a 10% higher clocked Core i7 6900K when six games were tested,and four of them did not use more than 4 cores and did not scale well with SMT. It included ARMA 3.

The same people leaked the Athlon 64 results months before review,and people didn't want to believe them back then either!

Even if you knock a few percent off those results,every leak is hinting at decentish performance.
