Which one should I get, a seagate or samsung 160gb 8mb (if so, which one is better considering the seagates £5 more) or a seagate 250gb 16mb (is this a lot more faster? and would i notice it)

cheers

just wondering, should i get a spinpoint 160mb cache and a 7600gt? or should i get the 250gb cache seagate and keep my 6800gt? as how much faster in "real world" is the 16mb 7200.10?

Cheers

go for the 7600gt by a mile, dont get a faster hd over a miles better g card.

When you say miles better, in what way? It is a little faster from what I have seen but not much and might overclock a little better but again not much. If changing the graphics card will cost the £5 difference then sure it is worth the upgrade but at anything around or over £20 I'd be thinking very carefully about it.

ok thanks.. Also, how long roughly is the seagate life span? as i dont want my data being corrupted after like a year, and say if i get the *** Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB ST3250620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM ***, it will definitiely be the 7200.10 (faster one) right

cheers

I don't work for OcUK but as far as I know they are shipping the 7200.10s plus since that is what they advertise and will confirm with you when you place your order that is what they will be obligated to send you because you have formed a contract at that point. So simply yes you will get the 7200.10 or you can send it back.

Seagate offer a 5 year warranty I think, I don't wish to guess how long the drive will last as there are too many intangibles but unless you are very unlucky it should last out that period :)
