2550k @stock temps

well i just had a game of bf3 now and my temps not get above 60 which was good fan at 100% i have a solid contact as the screws a very tight

seems better i reapplied the gunk of the copper heatsink stuff i gonna try another game of bf on a 64 server and see but even now its better then it was i may buy new gunk first and see if it better this mx5 i have is a good 9 months old

Op what case are you using? It'd pointless suggesting a bad seat if its down to poor airflow.

Edit: sorry just noticed your In an antec 300, could be the route of your problems tbh.

but deffo want new cooling and new case :D but has to wait till after xmas

cheers everyone for ya help if it keeps goin mental i let ya all no

If you are looking at around the £60 mark, then personally, I would get something like an Antec Kuhler or something from the Corsair H series. Also there will be no issues with the height of your RAM then :)

Which Xilence fans are they? I had a couple of 80mm red wing ones and to be honest I found the airflow really poor, although they were very quiet. I'm using Asaka Apaches with a Noctua 140mm fan now and it solved the airflow problem for me...

they r the red wings but 120mm versions
tbh they do pull quite allot of air in plus my 2 antec exhausts r on medium the airflow out my case is pretty good i mean i have fairly good cabale management considerin the case is a bit packed hence why i want new one next year

and if i have my way i may just watercool the lot. but yh atm the compund has bought it down to safer levels while i game

monday i will call in my local shop and get some better gunk and redo it again and see what that brings maybe buy a couple of new fans for the front of my case so the flow is at its best can only help my gfx card aswell, and saves me a bit of money in new year

would a better fan on my heatsink be better, also one thing i just remember my heatsink is sittin with the fan facing the back of my case instead of the front with the fan pullin air thru the heat sink, this is due to my heatsinks

You'll probably get better results with the fan pushing air through as Corsair designed it to do.

Can you maybe orientate the heatsink sideways, so the fan pushes cool air down through the heatsink? Maybe this will get temps down & clear your Vengeance RAM?
