2560x1440 Monitor... Samsung 32D850D

Also ordered.

Had ordered at the higher price but then saw gibbos thread a requested it was cancelled.
For some reason I was charged shipping so raised a customer services webnote.

Anyone know if this monitor and the 27D850D will support freesync / adaptive sync ?

At £319 I really like the 27 but when free sync is nearly it will be nice to have that feature

i have ordered this monitor today and was charged £373.49 (inc shipping) but am now wondering if my 2gb evga 650GTX will run it @ 1440p anybody able to shed any light on whether or not i should be looking at getting a new gfx card as my current one only has 2 x DVI and 1 X mini HDMI port and which port should i use to get the 1440p resolution am not a massive gamer but would like my windows to be the best they can be

Can't tell you about performance but you should be able to get 1440p over DVI.

I believe the monitor comes with a dual link DVI cable in the box so you should be fine.

Your current video card will be fine for desktop/office use at the monitors native 1440P resolution. You'll be turning a lot of details/resolution down on games though!

I've been considering upgrading to 1440P (currently running a Dell 27" 1920X1200) but really hesitant due to my ageing MSI Lightning GTX 680. I know a lot of older games will be fine, but newer titles would tax it a little too much for my liking :(

Hey guys,

I am stuck between Samsung 32D850D & Samsung U28d590. What are your thoughts for someone who watches movies online, PS4 and gaming like Star Citizen, Planetside 2 etc?

plus a lot of concerns with TN as I have always used IPS monitors

Cant see an issue, my GT555M in my laptop drives it fine, even playing Skyrim at 1440p quite convincingly with relatively high settings.

Though, as a note... It comes with HDMI, Dual Link DVI and DP cable.

Personally I needed a DP to Mini DP, don't forget to order once of these as OC are quite cheap compared to my local well known "electronics shop" (starts with Ma, ends with plins ;) )

I guess this all depends on how you define "fine"? If you think playing games at medium settings with no AA or AF and 30 frames per second max is fine then great. If like me you quite fancy running at maximum settings with a steady 60 frames per second then a GTX 650 simply wouldn't cut it!

Ah yes true, I'm no hardcore gamer, but most settings to the right gives me a playable FPS, not going to set the world alight, but neither will my skills

i am not an avid PC gamer i have a ps4 for games but i would like to be able to surf and watch the odd movie without glitching etc @1440p using GTX 650 albeit i am known to play the odd game of candy crush and pet rescue, what i dont want to happen is the monitor arrive and sits on my desk unused waiting for a new GFX card to come a week later

You'll be fine with your current video card if that's all you want to do ^^ :)

I'm thinking off getting the Samsung 27D850D inch 1440p screen and was wondering how my graphics card will shape up, the card is a Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 OC WindForce 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (GV-R929OC-4GD

Help would be kind please ?

I'm in the same boat, I ordered the 32" model last night, arrives on Tuesday. I've got the same card albeit the MSI Gaming edition, I think it'll be fine with most games on ultra tbh.

Really depends on the games. I play ESO on high with the 32 inch Samsung and get over 60fps using a gtx 660 (not even Ti) I would say the 290 will handle most things well
