256mb -> 1gb DDR worth it?

just put that extra 512mb in, what a difference that has made! its actually amazed me!

just removing about 90% of the programs now then I'l defrag it and it should be pretty useable!

cheers for that, i know most of the problem is the clutter on it (even more so now I'm on add/remove software!!!!) but I though a ram upgrade would probably be worth it, and at the minute im pretty confident I was right :)
 
Good to hear, richyb. Extra RAM always makes a huge difference, especially when you're moving from <512MB to >1GB.

Oh, and welcome to the wonderfully repetitive world of spending hours fixing relatives' PCs, just so that they can fill them with junk, spyware, adware and random apps again ready for you to fix again next week. :)
