2600k still ok?

One issue is although the CPU is strong, would it be good enough for bandwith with the latest top end cards coming out especially in SLI/Crossfire ect. Being that its PCI gen 2. I know they are good for single 980ti and this has not been a problem so far. But are we getting to that point especially 1080 or 1080 ti SLI that PCI bandwith will now be a consideration, not just about losing 1fps ect.

As above, the 2600k still holds up well so I really wouldn't bother upgrading.

My 3770k will do me at least another generation or two at 5.1GHz

I'm still using one and it's going well at 4.4ghz. Just finished playing Doom 4 and was getting around 80fps with a 970 all the way through.

Every year I've been waiting to see what comes out, but nothing so far has been a worthy upgrade. Maybe this year

same here, might get a 1070 though, but other than that no need for an upgrade

I downclocked mine to 4.2 from 4.5 the other day and CiV takes longer to process turns. Long enough to be annoying.

I'm amazed at how well my 2600k has done. 100% solid, reliable perofrmance for many years now. Amazing piece of technology!

I agree, been running mine at 4.6Ghz for years and am happy with it
