2600k upgrade to what? HELP!

Really? I'm still running a 2600K too clocked at 4.8.

Recently put an RTX 2080 in there and it runs like an absolute gem at 3440x1440.

Only got 12gb RAM in there too as a stick failed ages ago and I just can't bring myself to buy another one as I haven't really noticed a difference.

If I'm not streaming then my 2600k is almost faultless while gaming. As soon as I turn on OBS FPS drops through the floor, I only stream at 720/30, use very high cpu encoding and lanczos filtering. Pet hate is not being able to read text on streams.

if I didn't want to stream then I wouldn't be upgrading. So I am squarely blaming twitch

AMD is your best bet. 2700 will give you enough cores to game and stream no problems.

Ryzen are the ones to get at the moment tbh. You also get a pretty good APU on them (and you can use it to use freesync/adaptivesync with Nvidia cards).
