2600XT vs 1950pro , just need to clarrify something

Hey, was talkin to someone about the 2600XT which i thought to be comparable to the 1950pro now. Am i right in saying taht the 2600XT caught up with the 1950pro in terms of power due to drivers or is the 1950pro the better card?

Just something id like to know for ma self, obiously not buyign them or anything.
