I'm looking for a 27" 144hz screen and I've narrowed my search down to these two...

BenQ XL2720Z 27" TRUE 144Hz 3D Vision 2.0 Widescreen LED Monitor

Asus VG278HE 27" TRUE 144Hz 3D Widescreen LED Monitor

Doesn't seem much between them from the reviews I've read, but I'm not sure what to go for.

Any suggestions?

The BenQ XL2720Z has a 'Blur Reduction' mode which does exactly what it says on the tin. Provided you are able to maintain a frame rate equal to the refresh rate this is a really nice addition (see TFT Central review). When in its normal operating mode the XL2720Z has a 'flicker free' backlight which some users find more comfortable compared to the PWM-modulated (flickering) one on the VG278HE. It also slightly enhances the motion performance. If you hadn't guessed, the XL2720Z would be my pick. ;)

Cheers for the info:D

Were do I start, this is the first monitor that has taken me over an hour from unboxing to getting working on my PC.
I didn't know you had to select the input:confused:

Anyways its up and running sitting next to my 27in DGM.

Colours are great.
The stand is solid. It's about 10in deep.

Screen tearing:eek: GONE:D

Games runs fantastic. PS4 OMG

How can anyone, if your a gamer, not have one of these monitors!

1080p @ 27" ...

I wouldn't even want even want 1080p @ 24", I'd rather sit tight for some decent 1440p @ 27" models, you'd also get the addition of G-Sync which is more than just gimmicky from everything I've gleamed.

Just a note I got the 24" Benq XL2411Z today and I had read up on it before and the blur reduction is really good but when turned on the brightness dips. I tried it this morning before work and to me its too dim.

I found this page before I bought it so I am going to try the utility later tonight but it might be worth you checking it out too

Going to try this downsampling lark on mine (AMD drivers permitting!) once I've got it set up to my liking to see what 1440p looks like on it.

Have you managed 2560 on it?

Will have a look over the weekend. Thanks

just tried it on my Benq XL2411Z 1080p 1920x1080 144mhz monitor

3840 x 2160 @ 30hz

Furmark was the only thing I could find at the mo that showed the screen res. I didnt run the whole test.

Ran Watchdog to first video then quit out then ran Far Cry 2 benchmark and it was okay. Need to test it more really.

Funny thing was if I set it to 3840 x 2160 60hz after about 10 seconds on the desktop the screen went black but if I left it at 3840 x 2160 30hz and then ran Watchdogs/Far Cry 2 at 3840 x 2160 60hz it ran okay.

"4k" gaming on a 1080p monitor eh ! :p
