Hey,

I got my shiny new iMac 27" yesterday and got in from work tonight switched it on and i noticed the wifi/airport icon wasn't showing, so i opened my browser and got no internet connection, so i check system info and it said no hardware install under wifi.

follow this i restarted which was very slow but once booted back up all worked fine and wifi icon back, should i be worried and has anyone herd of this before??

iMac Spec if your interested:

intel core i7 3.4 Ghz
16GB Ram
Radeon HD 6970M 2GB
256 SSD
1TB HDD

:( Had the exact same thing with a brand new Mac Book Pro we had in. Took it in to the store after faffing about for ages trying to sort it. The guy there ran a diagnostics test and the wifi was faulty. The have the laptop now and is in the process of being fixed (replaced wifi).

Well if it happens again i will have to get in contact with them, really hope its just a one off as my "local" apple store is an hour away :( and i work a lot, also who wants to be without their apple products

They are repairing it on a brand new item? Why not just ask for a new one?

I had to have an iMac replaced due to a noisy drive. It was delivered on the Wednesday, I called on the Thursday and organised it. The faulty one was collected the following Monday and the (built to order) replacement was delivered on the Tuesday.

Really? wow that's service oh how i do love apple, well if i get another issue with it il be sure to complain

You have a 14 day "DOA" period from the date of invoice. If there is anything at all wrong with it you have the right to ask for a replacement, even if the issue here was the antenna connection was loose you could exercise this right if you wanted.
