I`m looking for a decent quality monitor that is 27" and more(preferably 2560x1440). I need it mainly for graphic design and every now and then for some casual gaming. Budget is up to £600.
So I was wondering what are my current options or is there something worth waiting just around the corner?

Thank you for your suggestions.

Asus PB278Q.

So much quality for the £££.

Great colours, sharpness, fully adjustable stand, loads of inputs.

That over the Dell??

I`ve had Dell UltraSharp U2713HM 27 for a few days,it left very bad impressions.
Faulty dvi connectors lots of backlight bleed, so I returned it imediately. Was waiting for a new gen of high res Ips panels but looks like those are taking time.

I don't know if the Dell issues were sorted with regards to their form of panel "lottery", especiall on the U2713HM. If it has, then definitely worth taking a look into. If not, you're really looking at the U2713H, but that one appears to be adding unnecessary cost to it for features unlikely to be used by the OP (10bit colour primarily).

I bought two of the Dell U2713HM recently, and they are both perfect. Manufacture date Nov 2013, revision A00 - what was yours?

I was going to say there are a lot of positive reviews for the Dell U2713HM, however the Asus PB278Q is a good buy. AOC also have recently made a new monitor with the same panel, however Overclockers do not currently stock it.

Which model is the new AOC you mention?

Whats the main uses for you with this monitor? I am looking at this too

Web browsing, movie playback etc, I have one of those AOC 144HZ screens for gaming mostly, although I do use the Asus sometimes and its never been found lacking. The Asus is used for everything else.

Nah. More movies and small indie games for me. Maybe some light GIMP work.

Oh that will be easy then for that, I have even used a AMD APU to do films and simple web based/flash based games on this screen. Not done any GIMP stuff, but its not like a demanding 3D game title is it?

I'm guessing he means the new AOC Q2770PQU.

I started a thread to try to get some more info but not much exists.
