Using a 24" BenQ at the moment and feel like upgrading, feel like 32" would be a nice upgrade size but with my budget of £450ish i dont have much choice. Cant decide on a nice 27" or are there any good 32's coming soon that beat out the likes of Samsung 32D850D or BenQ BL3200PT?

Mainly do gaming and photo work but im not an twitch gamer so ultra low response times dont bother me so much.

id go for BenQ, Clearance Lines section in OcUk is full of those samsungs. That only mean on thing.. people dont like them. I was thinking to get myself 27 inch version of that samsung, but there is loads of complains about dead pixels and flickering problems.

Well in the last month I briefly owned the BenQ and swiftly returned it for the 27 inch Samsung and I'm glad I did.

I'll explain. For me the 32 inch was just to big, your or others' uses may vary but my desk just wasn't deep enough for the BenQ to be useful as a desktop monitor - I was sitting at pretty much arm's length.

Secondly I just wasn't that impressed with the pixel density of the 32 inch, I just didn't see the drastic improvement i was hoping for over 1920x1080.

Now having said all that, the BenQ was technically a superb monitor. No dead pixels, no bleed and as it was VA no glow. Colours were spot on and blacks were pretty good for a VA panel.
For gaming it was really good. Played mostly Crysis 3 and Grid 2 for the few days I had it and had no complaints there.

As mentioned my main gripe was the sheer size of the unit and the pixel density. I was never really keen on having a multi monitor setup, I like to keep my office clean and sleek so one monitor is plenty. The downside of this is needing to find a monitor that can do it all.
The closest I have come to this is 27 inch 2560x1440 screens. I have owned a couple and as I said I purchased the S27D850 to replace the BenQ and I do love it. I've written on other threads about it but it just works for me. Colours are great, contrast is great and the pixel density is right on the sweet spot. No dead pixels or ANY bleed on my unit.

In the same boat myself. I only bought my Iiyama Prolite X2783HSU-B1 27" in December and although its a good screen for the cash. I want something with a higher resolution. I use it mostly for work, with the odd bit of browsing and photo editing as well. 1080p just doesnt really cut it for running multiple docs at once.

I was looking at the super wide 34" screens. But its laughable how every one is full of issues. Considering how expensive they are as well. No idea how the manufacturers can get away with it.

Anyways.... leaves me debating between the Samsung and Benq 32" screens. Neither are perfect it seems. The price difference sued to be a quite big, but seems OCUK have upped the Samsung price recently so it makes it pretty much a straight shootout.

Think ill be making the decision next week, so far I think im gonna go for the Benq.

I'd wait for a decent UHD monitor to arrive, then you can get one massive upgrade :) I wouldn't go for anything over 27" if you don't go UHD because of PPI.

I doubt there are any new 1440p 32s coming that will be better than the BenQ, it's pretty much the best monitor that can be built around the one and only 32" 1440 panel that's available. The only major improvement that may come with newer models is Freesync support.

I bought a BL3200PT just after they were released and I love it to bits. But... like all monitors, it's not going to please everybody. Some don't like the pixel density (same as a 24" 1080p screen) or just the sheer size of it.

But personally I don't think there's a single monitor on the market I'd rather have then the BenQ.

Cheers guys, seems im still up in the air about it but im leaning towards the BenQ, i have an office desk so the depth is pretty large so hoping a 32" wont overwhelm me. But like some say, the ppi might make things look a bit fuzzy at that size....

I currently use the BenQ 32" and for me that is a very nice option. Size and the resolution fits well as I don't need to have any UI scaling. When I was using a 24" I found everything on the screen a bit too small so had to lean towards the monitor a lot (yes I'm getting old and my eyesight isn't what it used to be :)).

I went with the BenQ as I had previously used a 28" HannsG with 1920x1200 resolution which I found really good. This BenQ is 32" with 2560x1440 has the right size of UI elements for me.

For the brief period I had the Samsung 32 inch, the size felt a bit overwhelming (mainly due to the fact the distance between screen and me was not even arms length) and I found gaming it was good (but the PPI means while it was nice and big, it didn't look any bettre than my 24inch 1080), but internet browsing seemed unnatural as the writing just didn't seem right. Course, tht may have been me needing to adjust some settings.

But like some say, the ppi might make things look a bit fuzzy at that size....

The PPI is exactly the same as a 24" 1080P at 91.79 PPI, so it doesn't look fuzzy at all - PPI calculator

I have the Samsung S32850T 32" with the same panel as the Benq and I've been very pleased with it so far. It doesn't take too long to get used to the extra size (I came from a Dell 27" 1920X1200)

go for a good 27" like LG 27MB85R which is outstanding but hard to source, or BenQ BL2710PT, AOC Q2770PQU, or Asus PB278QR/ 2014 PB278Q.

32" i think £450 will get you a mediocre monitor.

I had the 32 inch sammy and it was ok. Returned it for the flickering issue, but motion wasn't very good on it in my opinion.

The only 32 inch I would personally consider currently is the 3201pt. But that pricey.

If Gaming it `s all about the Pixel Pitch size to Screen ratio so say you want to go for a 27/28in screen with a Resolution of 2560x1440 You should be looking at a Pixel Pitch of 0.233 to keep the graphics looking sharp. If you want to jump up to a 32in screen you would be better of going for a 4K panel to keep that same sharpness
