2707 - did i imagine it???

A few months ago when dell were announcing their 2407 and 3007 im sure that i saw in a couple places that they were going to release a 2707 - 27" mon with 1900x1200 res.

Is there any new on this? Im interested in this as i cant afford the gfx card you need to run 2560x1460(sp?) and would like something a bit bigger than 24".
 
there was rumours of it, and a Samsung S-PVA panel of the same size to match. In fact there was some info on it here but i'm not sure if we will see it any time soon or not.

not sure if Dell ever "officially" announced it as they very rarely do this, they are always very secretive about their monitors. In fact the 2007WFP and 2407WFP were being discussed around the net for several months before Dell actually announced them officially on their site, and specs were made official. However, there has certainly been talk about the Dell 2707WFP, and BeHardware mentioned it as well here
 
Definitely rumoured. I cant see it being an attractive prospect. The same res as the 24" (1920x1200) on a 27" screen. The dot pitch worked out at about 0.3. Which must be abominable to look at.

i know :) I reported about it earlier than they did (5/3/06 compared with 21/3/06) but it was not official news from Dell. That's all i was saying really. Dell don't do official announcements about these screens until much nearer the release time, they don't do "press release news" sections on their site. For instance, that report on TFT Central was on March 5th, but Dell didnt actually confirm the 2407WFP monitor or specs officially until March 24th

anyway, it makes no difference, we're picking on technicalities :p
