I know there has been a lot of movement lately in the pricing on the 280's partly due to some great buys by OcUK and partly as nVidia dump stock/try to compete. But I had to laugh when I read through some of the stuff on sale.

It's bad enough that there were 260s on sale for more than brand new 280s :rolleyes: but the next 2 really caught my eye:

BFG GeForce GTX 280 (Water cooled) - £344.99
EVGA GeForce GTX 280 (Water cooled) - £494.49

:eek::rolleyes:

They're the same in almost every way.

So for a smidge under £150 you get an extra 11MHz on the core speed and a slightly different gpu block <- must be platinum lined and diamond studded for extra blingyness or something. :D

although EVGA is 2 slot so ignore that, BFG was a single slot solution and looked pretty elegant.

If you are packing them in you may still want the water option, I believe water gfx coolers are pretty pricey though mate..

i know, thats why I said you may want the water option - and was insinuating that you may be willing to pay a premium for it, particuarly in a multi gpu setup.

No. If it's obvious that the price is an error then they can legally void the sale even if money has been taken from you.

Whether any price is "obviously" an error is sometimes subjective but not in this case :)

If something in a shop is priced wrong and someone tries to buy it then the merchant has the right to refuse the sale, but in doing so they must then remove that line of stock from sale for 24 hours.

If you did hit the buy button while it was at 30 quid, would OCUK have to sell it to you at that price? Would it be a legal obligation?

Tricky,

If they had your money and you the card then i believe it's a done deal. Some forms of advertising would also mean they would have to honour any sales i believe.
