285s disappearing?

Hello there,

It seems that the 285s are starting to go. There are barley any left at OcUK and they all seem to be going out of stock. Could someone please enlighten me on the situation? Is this in preperation for the 285s GT300 equivelant release?

I don't think so as the GT300 is nowhere near ready yet.

OCUK arnt going to buy stock untill nvidia lower its prices (a lot) as these cards are no longer competative above a £180 selling point

Actually, just checking....seems like a lot of nVidia cards are running very low ?

Perhaps the ATI launch created a spike in demand for Nvidia products too? I guess a lot of people would have been waiting for the ATI range to launch before making a decision about which card to go for.

they are pretty cheep 285gtx's the ocuk value range at 199. there arnt many people going to buy a 285 at £200+ when a 5850 has better performance at a cheeper selling point

i can only see a resaon for ppl buying a gtx285 now instead of ati if they already have a gtx card and want to do sli etc it be daft to buy one now as a single gpu.
