2900 XT DEAD.

I dont have any probs with mine, and its not just the 320mb's that are affected, theres plenty of 640mb GTS owners, GTX owners with the same prob, just affects the 320mb GTS more. :)

Exactly, it affects the 320mb more because it runs out of memory faster whereas if you have 640mb/768mb the chance off you running out of memory is pretty slim even with this bug.

Yeah a lot of ppl also dont even get the gradual slowdown, soon as they start a game they have to ALT+TAB out and back in as it runs dire from the off, i must be lucky as ive never experianced it yet, i certainly notice if my games suddenly started crawling at abuot 5-10fps.

Loadsa can you link us to benchies where the 2900 wins in all (well, 99%) the benchies please, I want to have a read as I may consider upgrading if this is the case. :)

Trying to find it now.. this is just one I saw the last day. They have quite a few typos etc.. so not the most reliable site but others are saying the same things. As long as you don't ramp the AA over 4x then the 2900XT kicks ass with the latest drivers. The leaked beta drivers are even better :)

looks like its on par with the GTS untill you hit high rez or enable any kind of AA/AF

Yeh totally, the 2900xt is good but with any AF/AA enabled is seems to loss track, hopefully new drivers will sort this out! The new drivers are already looking promising! ;)

just to step back to the original post, the card has been replaced by OCUK, within 24hours it has been shipped.

Also, out of interest, is the 1024mb version any better?

1024mb versions is only a couple of fps faster, deffenitly not worth the money, it has higher clocks on the memory but the ddr3 is not much behind it since the GDDR4 will have higher timing which will make it slower but has higher clocks so its slightly faster.

I wouldn't, 8800's have had a slowdown bug since launch (last November), and it wont be fixed till sometime in Sept, and thats just the fix for the bug in Dx9, they say its gona be months after that before they fix it in Dx10, id stick with the 2900's. :p
Keep reading about this bug but I've never actually had it, despite playing lots of long SupCom games (some over 4 hrs) and playing R6Vegas all the way through, in 3hr+ sessions.
