That quad with 2900xt should do a lot better than that something is obviously wrong, maybe old driver?

Yeah 8162 isn't too bad at all I was expecting to see 6000s.
 
This card seems decent value indeed! Especially considering Iv seen it at barely >£100! Nice to see it overclock well too for ya frippy! Definately appears to be worth the £117 OCuK are charging!

The quad doesn't have a 2900xt it has a 1900xt.

Frippy, how about an 03 run for the hell of it? :D
 
That's not bad for a card costing <£120... nearly double that of my old 7800GT so a decent upgrade from the last gen.
 
Not bad if it was released a few months earlier TBH, with the HD3850 being released in a few days the 2900GT is going to be the most shortlived card in the history of computing LOL.

The 3850 is going to cost similar to the GT with 2900pro-like performance and great OC potential.
 
Fribby, try pushing the core higher :) You might be able to get 820 or even 843 f they are indeed the same chips as the pro/xt :)

Not sure what that is Willhub?, Scougar I'll give it a go with the core to see what happens. I might increase the ram as well, just to see what it maxes out at. If I can break the 8.5K barrier on 06, I'll be happy!

All 2900XT have it...... as I said before XT has extra 8 mem chips at the back due to having 512bit mem bandwidth instead of 256bit on the GT, the "black thing" act as a heatsink for the memory.

Yep its a plastic heatsink :p its really hot to the touch so I guess its doing its job.
 
How you getting on with the clocking fribby? I think you get better performance increase with core on the r600 stuff rather than increasing memory (someone correct me if i'm wrong), so aim for that first :)
