290X Poor Performance

I've had this 290X for a few years now, and BF1 performance is poor with frequent drops into the 40s I assume is CPU related

I'm upgrading to Ryzen from the i7 920 when it comes out, but I'm getting very poor performance in the Heaven benchmark. From a quick look online, I should be getting 70-80fps at 1600x900?

Ignore the core clock speed in GPU-Z, it was running at 1060 for the majority of the test

Any ideas?

I should imagine that the cpu running at stock is going to hold it back quite a bit. Most of those i7 920's will hit 4Ghz easily enough.

I'm not sure how much single threaded clockspeed affects Heaven but I imagine a stock 920 will be limiting BF1 pretty badly in places. On my backup machine I currently have an X5675 CPU @ 4.2GHz and it still bottlenecks a 970 in a couple of places. With the chip at stock the bottleneck is huge.
