Good Morning All, I am new to the forums,
My Specs:
- Dell Dimension 5000
- 2 x Kingston 1GB DDR2 533MHz/PC2-4200 Non-ECC CL4 1.8V Unbuffered Dimm 240 pin
- P3 3 GHz
- 160 GB HD
- XP Home
I am trying to add 2 x 1 GB chips on my pc the Ram Chips work fine individually, but not at the same time, the mobo has 4 ram slots, all the hardware is as it was since its purchase. So far I have checked BIOS all looks well. I have reset the Bios by removing the battery.
When the 2 Ram chips are connected, it goes past the windows image but then just before it loads windows the screen goes blue and states: Parity check error, please consult your hardware manufacturer. The fact that it goes this far would suggest there is nothing wrong with the Bios or Ram Chips. Before I do a format I was wondering if anyone may have come past this issue before.
Thanks
J
