ok ive just bought a cheap 200gb hd and was going to stick it on the slave channel of my ide cable (comming of my main hd). i then noticed that i have a couple of sata ports on my hd and was just wondering if it would be better to use one of them instead of the slave on the ide? thanks

Won't see any diffs in performance so unless you are running a lot of ide drives then just put it on the ide channel as a slave.
