2k or 4k for gaming?

Which in turn hogs nearly 10cm more desk space than 32" 16:9 for actually smaller image area because of 6 cm lower image height.

Yeah they are fantastic monitors really glad I changed from 32" 16:9 - my main reason though was going from 75mhz to 144mhz and I couldnt find a cheap decent 32" IPS 144mhz monitor - that wasnt curved.

Now dont get me started about curved monitors :)

Flat v Curved

Curved is actually Ok if you’re not doing a lot of things with straight lines like CAD. I don’t notice the curve on mine at all now.

due to me being long and short sighted particularly in one eye the curve of the monitor makes me feel dizzy and sick. Tried a few of them out in computer shops and I had to stop the room started spinning.

Dont play fps on 32 inch it slows down you reaction times to much maximun 27

now flight sims it would look awsome or elite

Thats probably more to do with IPS v VA and response times. IPS for FPS games, VA for beautiful looking games. ;) 32" flat 144mhz IPS monitors are pretty scarce unless you pay ££££££'s

4k 120hz monitors are still hellish expensive at which point you'd be better off with a 48 inch CX OLED - and for 4k you'll want a 3080 or 6800XT minimum. SO £2500+ to go 4k. The TV's are available but the GPU's are non existent and those that are are too over priced. That's not to say you could be lucky on an FE drop if they are still doing them - but it's doubtful.

If you've never had a high hz monitor before >60hz then you could get a 4k 60hz monitor, but going high hz is a considerable upgrade in itself. So something 1440p will be a good upgrade along with high refresh and VRR and A LOT cheaper that going 4k. It's the cost and availability of cards currently that will be the pain in spending your hard earned. Good luck

And second, 2k + HDR is better than 4k
HDR in some games looks really great :):):) i really would not want to own a non HDR monitor these days ;)

Plus there going be a lot more HDR support in games once windows has this
Auto HDR coming to Windows 10 PC for DX11 and DX12 games
Auto HDR available to test on Win 10 gaming PC's now | Overclockers UK Forums

I would not spend a lot of money on a monitor now unless it has HDR 1000 or higher
(unless it an OLED which HDR looks good with even around 700nits)
