2nd Car Advice

Don't venture into this area of the forums that much so bare with me

Been thinking about getting a new car for my 21st (it's in June but want to get rid of my current car before it needs insurance, MOT, etc in April/May).

Budget would be around 4-5 grand (not including insurance).

I'm currently driving a T reg Saxo so basically anything is an improvement

Is it wrong to quite like the look of old type Astras?

Anyway I don't know that much about cars in honesty, just need a few ideas on what to look out for in that kind of price range.

What do you use it for? And how much?

Probably best to look at focuses though. as everyone is about to say.

I drive to Sheffield about 2-3 times a week, either for Uni or shopping etc.

Drive around Barnsley quite a bit too, but having said that some days I don't use the car at all.

Focus looks well ugly tho (I'll have a look around ).

If you do motorway miles, people are going to say Mondeo.

I'd say it's 50/50 with motorway and road when I travel to Sheffield. Depends which side I need to get to.
