First one had a green stuck pixel on the screen, very obtrusive, I had to send it back to the supplier under the Distance Sales Act.

Just recieved another one today, worked for 10 minutes, then the screen started flashing on and off, then go 98% black. I say 98%, becuase I can see whats on the screen, if I look very, very closely! Even the OSD menu is faded out to the point that you can only see it's shadow.

I've tried both, VGA and DVI, and tried it on 3 different PC's, all with the same result. I'm pulling my hair out. Has anyone else had problems with the VX922?

Can anyone recommend an alternative to Viewsonic, it needs to be quick for fast paced games.

Cheers,
Paul -

Looks like the lamp inverter or the lamps themselves went numb. You should have a serios talk with ViewSonic.

Don't worry mate, things like this can happen. Maybe you'll even get a discount with the next replacement.

At least you won't have to use DSA to send the 2nd one back. As it's clearly faulty, the retailer should let you RMA it and they should pay to have it collected. Samsung 930BF and 960BF are pretty similar to the Viewsonic spec-wise.

Your other option is to phone viewsonic and get a replacement sent out. Since it's so new they should agree to send you a brand new replacement, but there's no guarantee you won't get one with a dead pixel, and then having took a replacement you probably wouldn't be able to DSA through the retailer.

You're just unlucky.

That is the dilema I face Fish!

I've tried to RMA the monitor through the etailers website, but it just redirects me to the ViewSonic support lines. I've emailed my etailer telling them that under the Sales of Goods Act it is THEIR responsibilty to sort it out, not the manufacturers! They are a reputable company, I can't see them refusing the return.

I've also emailed ViewSonic to complain and ask them to clarify what would happen if they were to send out a replacement with a STUCK pixel.

I'll let you know how it turns out!

Maybe you should have just asked to return it for a refund and not claiming it was faulty? This i think you can do within 7 days.

Hard luck mate. Sorry to hear you had 2 bad 'uns in a row. I got mine the other day, and besides some bleeding along the top edge it is ok. Did get a fright tonight though. Came back from cinema and brought system out of standby, opened up webpage and the screen started flickering and then buzzing !! Turning it on and off sorted it. I was thinking about getting another VX922 so I can watch tv and stuff while browsing and generally have more room for windows. Not so sure now, as I could be tempting fate and end up with a dodgy one.

I think my problem is either the viewsonic driver, or the stages of power management I have setup...testing it now to see which it is.

Do Viewsonic do a straight swap if you have the required number of dead pixels or do they take your TFT away to check first?

The supplier has agreed to take the monitor back. Just undecided whether or not to go for a replacement(3rd time lucky??), or get a refund and go for a Samsung???

I ordered my VX922 for OcUK, so did a friend and his arrived same day as mine. Both perfect. Maybe you should get a refund and chance one from OcUK ?

It turns out the 'hissing' noise is down to the stupd Viewsonic drivers. When the system returns from standby this happens and turning the screen on and off gets rid of it. No problems with regular windows drivers though which also give you the 75hz option.

Your getting a replacement now!??? PFFT!

Im still fighting for mine! :D...(As you know paul) :P

No reply as of yet, suppose it is bank holiday...but what about the email i sent like last wednesday :P I duno eh, begining to wonder if i should bother with LCD's at all...first one ive EVER brought, and its got a lovely pixel :)
