I have 2 monitors plugged into my 7850 (one is an lg computer monitor and the other is an lg hdtv I can get model no.s if needed) and whenever I play games the game window is only on the tv as I prefer it for watching.

However as I play the game I can see like white scan lines scrolling down the second screen.

It only happens with 3d games and even minecraft in windowed mode will make it do this?

It only seems to affect the 2nd monitor as the tv screen is fine while i'm playing on it.

I tried doing a printscreen to see if I could catch the effect but the printscreen appears fine?

The print screen (from the misbehaving monitor) is fine?

Looks like that monitor does not like the input signal, can you play with the settings on that monitor? use different refresh rates? different colour modes?

The printscreen is normal, the wallpaper background appears undistorted and I've tried it several times.

The effect looks a bit like when you see a CRT screen in the background of a video the way it goes funny due to the differing refresh rates between the video camera and the screen? (Sorry its not too clear but its the only thing I can think of that looks like the effect on the screen)

The screen thats affected is connected via a vga cable and the dvi to vga adapater?

I'll try fiddling with the monitor settings but the only settings I can find that would seem to be relevant are the image position, clock and phase settings?

Yes, try clock and phase settings.

Yes, try clock and phase settings.

I've managed to get the effect mostly away, its now only a slightly distorted ripple to the background image (although its still distracting)

My dad reckoned if I got a DVI cable it would sort it out as theres no clock and phase setting with a DVI connection?

Might do, don't actually know, try it, they are only a few quid.
