2nd pc networked

i have just got a 2nd pc nothing 2 fancy it was after all a free (givent to me for bilding them a new pc with good old OCuk parts) any way i am running xp and just set up a network over the 2 pc's so i can play lan games and stuff but is there a better program for setting up a network like this

or any thing that will make it worth having a 2nd networked pc?

if you have just set a network up no need for any other programs.

if you have a router just plug them both in and away you go. if you wan to share files right click on the folder you wish to share and click sharing........

apart from that thats all you need to know.
