I have a 2nd 500GB SSD which has all my games on. I'm Running windows 8.1 on a 120GB SSD. Have just noticed that the 500GB is showing as a Fat32 drive.

So I wanted to install windows 7 on a new SSD to see how it preforms. Installed the OS and all was well but could not see my 500GB drive even though it showed in Device manager? This is how I came to found out it was formatted as a Fat32 drive.

2 questions why is not showing on the windows 7 system and should I reformat it to NTFS.

make sure it has a drive letter assigned to it that is not in use or make sure it has 1 assigned to it, this can be done through disk management.

I format all of my drives in NTFS, the reason for this is that FAT32 has a file limit of 4GB so you will not be able to store or move over any files to this drive over 4GB like ISO files or large videos etc.

can you post a screen shot of your disk management screen?
