installed a 2nd ssd and it doesn't show up in windows explorer but it does show up in disk management .

it used to be used in my ps4 , I plugged it straight in hoping I could format it but I cant.

anyone got any ideas ?

make sure the SSD has a drive letter assigned to it (and not in use) and that it has a partition created on the SSD and formatted.

if you right click on the SSD it should give you the option to change drive letter

do you get any errors when trying to format the SSD?

the only options when I right click in disk drives under computer management are " update drive" " disable " " uninstall " " scan for hardware changes " and " properties "

I have no option to assign a drive letter

haven't been able to try and format either

are you looking under device manager or disk management? the options above sound like your in device manager

right click computer and go to manage then on then click disk management at the bottom of the list and try in there

should be able to format and assign a drive letter etc

nice one , I was in there before but didn't think to right click the actual diskspace instead of clicking just its name. formatting as we speak, scratch that , just checked again. its done (Y) :D
