infornt of my PC
Hi I need some help.

I have just ordered http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-255-SE
A new 2TB Seagate 7200 SATA drive (backwards compatible).

I am running Win 7 64 on a 3 month old PC build by OC.

I have a hot swap drive bay and I have swapped in and out many drives, usually 500gb to 1.5TB in it.

In side the PC I have a Seagate 3TB 7200 which works fine.
As I use SSD I have set my motherboard to ACHI and enabled LBA (or something to recognise drives over 2TB)

I can see all my existing drives in the hot swap bay which is SATA II and SATA III compatible.

When I put my new 2TB drive in, windows hangs. On start up I open my computer and see my existing drives, then windows takes ages trying to read the new 2TB drive. I can not select any other icon or run anything else. If I eject the drive then windows comes back to me.

I have even tried the HFS4WIN fix from Seagate but no difference.

Like others that have this drive, there is a loud click click when the drive starts but I suspect that is normal as they all seem to do that now.

I know that bay works with other drives, so that pretty much eliminates most things.

Any ideas?

OK tried an external SATA caddy on e-sata to my laptop.
Saw Installing driver and no drive in my computer. Went to disk manager and can not see the drive at all. Also got intermittent red LED on drive caddy which indicates a problem.
Going to RMA it
