As the title says i have 2x 30Gb OCZ Core v2's in raid 0 right now and i was thinking about adding a 3rd drive.. but since the OCZ vertex 30Gb can be bought from Overclockers for about the same price as i can get a core v2 from elsewhere i was wondering if it really matered? would the raid 0 of these 3 drives still work?

RAID0 with the Vertex as the third drive would still work, but you'd either see similar performance levels to three OCZ Core V2s RAID0 or you'd get a slight performance increase compared to three OCZ Core V2s RAID0.
With those SSDs though, have you got a dedicated RAID card with cache? If not, you'd get better performance probably by adding a controller card such as the PERC 5/i (I suggest it because it's cheap from the bay) and using its cache. Although the main reason for adding a third drive in RAID0 is for added space rather than performance, is that the case?

If you need the space, get the Vertex, it's a better drive and will almost certainly work with the other two. Although if someone knows different then please prove me wrong.
