Think it's only the 8 series and later nvidia GPU cards that work for physX...

Dam! How loud is all these? I heard the 5870 can be very loud when you turn up the fans, you have two + a 8800GTS!

All I need now is another 5870, a PhsyX card, a new Mobo, and a more powerful PSU:p

Just wondering when Nvidia release a new AGEIA driver, so new games only work with a new version, that needs a newer Nvidia driver release, that causes the hack to not work. So I still wouldn't remotely bother risking buying a card just for that, it will be agame of cat and mouse for a while I'd think, with Nvidia managing to screw ATi with every new game.

You'd think you'd have no issue playing any game up to now though with the current drivers and hack, but game updates that suddenly require a new version of Ageia to work could be a problem also.

Unless your favourite game uses Ageia and will last you a long long time I wouldn't get one. Potential for Nvidia screwing you further is too high.
 
Annoying how Afterburner crossfire slave settings are all messed up with the three cards. Clocks in the overdrive, voltages with Afterburner. Slave fan profile gone to hell.

I'm a bit green on Physics/ppu's tbh :o.....I thought maybe having a card as a ppu would help a bit in most games doing physics even without a set of code set specificaly for ageia for example..?
I also remmember reading a while back that when running 3 ATI cards you could use the 3rd (say lower end card) as a ppu...did this ever come about ?:confused:
 
BTW, quickly change your sig so there's only 1 line of text under the image before a mod sees it and removes it all and leaves you a nice message ;)

yes, any combination of ati card and any combination of any nvidia card *as long as the nvidia card has physx onboard that is*

yeah i know i tryed working with unwinder to solve the issue but its currently impossible lol, good news is though you can still select the 2 cards in afterburner :)
the only thing you cant do is select clocks and memory clocks for 1 card, all you do for that is go into ccc and do it manuely :)
the voltage adjustments still work and so does the awsome fan profileing :)
also the program picks up the nvidia card i have in my system and lets me change its memory and core clocks and fan profile works on it also :D
