Infinity Ward's operations apparently have been affected enough that it has called in reinforcements to make the next Call of Duty military game
Activision has quietly tapped Sledgehammer Games, a Northern California studio, to help out with the making of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,
Activision has also brought in Wisconsin-based Raven Software, which is working on the online multi-player elements for Modern Warfare 3, sources said.

All this is just speculation.Assuming it is true then:
I thought sledgehammer games was made up of people who didn't leave infinity ward?
It's quite shocking that so many people did leave that they may be having to get another 2 dev teams to help out.

That's what they've done. The x-men origins game was quite good. And Singularity is supposedly alright. Interesting that it says they've done the Black Ops DLC:confused:

Raven were gutted recently I don’t know how many people they have left, so I think that will be the last of there full game releases.

Wolfenstein was a terrible follow-up to RTCW. It sounds like this might make Black Ops look good.

It does sound like activision have cobbled together whoever they could to try and make a full team. I'm glad i'm buying Gears Of War 3 and Uncharted 3 this year.

Didn't Raven make Soldier of Fortune? The multiplayer on SoF2 was supposed to be good.

i used to in a clan for many years on sof 2 and spent many many hours on that game and yes it was very very good on-line...even better than css in my eyes.

I palyed the original SoF to death! Was quite amazing.

Only one game on that list bothers me, that's Wolfenstein.

SOF2 was class in multiplayer - played it to death on my uni LAN and a LOT of fun. the jedi knight games were really good too.

Last vaguely decent Raven games were Quake engine based which is a fair while ago, I wouldnt expect anything near that from them today...

Interesting Activision are turning to the Singularity devs whose game had zero publishing/advertising support from them - all bodes well for COD greatness ;)

ps3ud0

Infinity Ward AFAIK is still Infinity Ward but missing lots of the original staff, Sledgehammer Games are now the main developer of the next Call Of Duty game and according to my watch they have a little over 8,1/2 months to go Gold, considering they still need most of the staff as the job adverts are still out there I have no idea how this game will be any good. The funny thing about it is that even if the game is rancid it will still sell by the bucketload. Go Activision and there Cash Cow, this game would sell if they re-released Wolfenstein changed the models slightly and tweaked out all the special abilities...... hell why change the models they could just go back to WW2.

On the otherhand MW3 may actually exist already and the news we are hearing about could be for the next COD which will be released in 2012...... who knows.

i cant really see how this will matter that much as they will probably use the same graphics engine anyways!
