Been thinking of switching to 3 as they offer unlimited deals.

Ive checked their coverage and it appears to be great for the stoke/Newcastle area and testing a 3 payg sim shows they have comparable/better signal in all places I have been so it appears good?

The alternative is stick with Vodafone as they have offered me a retention deal of unlimited texts and calls with 7gb for £16 a month.

Anyone on 3 and have bad experience with 3 signal?

With three and found them great. Travel all over the south west.
And far far far faster data than vodaphone.

Same, but south east and north, have used between 2-5 gig data a day an don't feel like i have been throttled, this is only 3g not 4g though. Customer service is abit of an ***, but it seems like its like that for other networks too.

Edit: a day, not month :o

They don't throttle, or haven't noticed it. I have used over 50GB in a month before. It all depends where I'm working and what I'm doing. If in a hotel that charges I just use 3g/4g tethered so can rack it up. Glad I'm on the old one plan.

Love it, left t mobile 2 years ago with ee 4g launch and won't go to any other network now I'm on the one plan, personal hotspot it's amazing, have no issue with signal, majority 3G but 4g is about, speeds on 3G are more that fine for the phone.

As with any network it varies with location, some areas aren't as good on Three. What I will say though, is if you are in an area to take advantage of Three they are the best network.

With 3 on The One plan 12mth SIMO. It's great. Only ever had signal issues once due to a mast being down. I have a dual-channel enabled phone so 3 allow me to use 2 3G connections simultaneously. Even in non-4G areas I get as good or even better speeds than just 4G alone

Customer support is terrible though. No common sense with agents, I got a fraud alert put on my account because I emailed a question and signed it off with the shortened version of my name, eg Dave instead of David (not my name but example).

Also when I had the signal issue I could get a data connection but not make calls, they asked me to call them from my mobile in the affected area :-/

Everyone I've spoken to has said they are awful but none actually have a 3 plan and are basing it on the past, personally I've found them great.

Based on this thread and my research im gonna go for the one plan.

I'm with 3 at the moment but having to swithc to GiffGaff (o2) as I get 0 reception in my house and barely any in my whole street, despite them saying they have perfect coverage. I rearely get 3G around my office in Old Street either so in general I'm not particularly impressed.

I've been with 3 for a couple of years. Reception is perfect for me all throughout central scotland, plus I do a reasonable amount of UK travelling and have never struggled for a signal (though I don't spend a lot of time in rural areas).

My data speeds even on 3g are fantastic compared with the other carriers i've been with recently (t mobile, vodafone)

In server rooms I often have no signal at all with my 3 mobile but decent o2 signal on my work mobile.

In general though the 3 phone has fast data speeds and I often tether to my work laptop as my work supplied o2 3g dongle has only edge etc and even when it has 3g h etc it's still really slow.
