3 mobile coverage these days.

And yet I am leaving O2 for their abysmal coverage in the north east. **** poor internet speeds and dropping calls. And this is not just me, people I know are leaving in droves. O2 do not care. Even the shop staff just go agree and do nothing.

Yeah, I generally don't have any issues although I get weak signal/no signal in the rear of my house... but my housemate on EE has the same problem.

Got a Vodafone contract a while back because they were the only network to provide a 3G signal in work. We now have wifi so I'm trying out a few things.

Vodafone came last of the big networks in the Ofcom report recently with EE coming out on top. Haven't tried EE yet but 3 have been really good in most of the areas Vodafone didn't provide me with 3G. Also running a Giffgaff sim to try the 4G. It's patchy though.

Both 3 and Giffgaff offering unlimited data with enough texts and talk for a £15 top up on PAYG makes me wonder about having a contract at all.

Coverage on Three has kept on improving the 3 years I have been with them. I have a work phone on Vodafone and I have more issues with signal than three.

I went with 3 because they were cheap and that was (I think) 8 years ago and they have never given me a reason to leave. Their coverage is fine for me and the only place I have noticed it drop out entirely has been when on some beaches in Cornwall. Their customer service over the time has been a little hit and miss but having also dealt with other networks I wouldn't say 3 is any worse than the others.

Edit: They also gave me a good deal on the iphone 6 so sticking with them for another 2 years too :)

I think I'm right in saying that three will roam to 2G EE network for voice & text when no service is available on three?

Yes, I believe that to be the case however I am sure someone will definitively confirm.

Three give me 4G in my back garden, where Vodafone were just about able to supply Edge.

Actually just about everywhere I go, 1 bar of 3G on Three is a more regular sight than any bars of 3G on Vodafone.

So finally ditched VF after 15 years, feels John Goodman.

I'll be moving from Vodafone to 3 in a few months when my contract ends in the hope of getting at least half bearable data speeds. Vodafone is shocking for me.

I've been on the one plan for about 6 months. Used in the south-west and north-west, coverage is very good, speeds are also very good, i rarely actually use 4G because i can get well over 10mbps on H+.

Three do throttle some traffic, FTP/SFTP for example, i've noticed this traffic drops significantly below reported speeds.

I am on the one plan and I had no signal in my new house so they sent me a free home signal box which gave me hsdpa everywhere I previously had no signal. Still my favourite network even though they have Indian call centres.

Oh dear, I decided I'd make the switch to 3 but seems the signal is poor where I like and in work, fantastic speeds when I am somewhere with a good signal though.

Only a monthly contract so guess I've not lost much, but really should have tried PAYG first I guess... :-(

Thanks, yeah I did think about that, its not actually that bad in my house but I had a wander around the area where I live and generally get one bar at best, with some places where I couldn't even make voice calls, so sadly not much good (and not what I expected from their coverage checker. Plus no WiFi access at work so would be stuck without a phone there. Shame, GiffGaff data speeds were poor but I'll probably stick with them due to the coverage I get.

Do you work in a remote location?

Just out of curiosity, did you check three's coverage map? Interesting to see how accurate it is.
