Moving away from Giffnaff and looking for a new Service provider.

Who would you suggest for reliability etc? Still want PAYG

Looking at Vodafone or 3.

Any help?

I wish people wouldn't ask things like this.

It depends entirely on where you live (and coverage maps aren't reliable either).

Will say this, 3 have switched off most of their back up 2G network. If you live in a built up area but unfortunate to be in a strange spot, your STOL. It took months of arguing and letters to get my contract revoked after we moved, I had zero bars service inside the house.

Now i'm with T-Mobile and couldn't be happier, especially since the merger. When I get out of usual limits, it switches over to T-Mo Orange and keep 3G services.

Three utterly destroy Vodafone on PAYG for price. IMO Vodafone has a better network (be that signal or reliability) but not enough that I'd pay A LOT more for it (or get less for the same amount).

I went from Vodafone to 3 a few months ago. 6 years on Vodafone, and tired of the lack of 3G and the poor deal I was getting from Vodafone. Now on 3's One Plan and I get 3G almost everywhere and have used 2GB of data this month. I find that the signal is probably quicker to completely disappear than with Vodafone (presumably due to lack of back up 2G) but overall it's better simply because it's faster and there's no cap.

As you're on PAYG you can easily try both. In London for example, Vodafone have good 3G coverage but at peak times there's so many business users Internet access slows to a crawl.

I had poor signal at home and three sent me a box that goes into my broadband connection, i now get perfect signal.

I can't comment for three vs vodafone but I've just gone from orange to three and I'm getting better coverage with three and better speeds but that is just my area.....may be different for you.

I was on Three and had awesome signal for phone calls/internet. Then I bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 on Vodafone and it doesn't even compare. Vodafone has terrible signal strength, not just in my area too, we went on holiday to Newquay and all the way there I barely had any internet signal if that's any help lol
