3 Red lights - 360 Dead.

Just to give an update for others who might wonder what the Microsoft turn around is like.

My friends 360 was collected Monday (with HD) and it was returned today. However the prospect of being without one for a week led him to buy another premium 360 at the weekend, so he now has 2!!

The one that arrived back from MS today is not his original one, and he believes it to be new as it has a similar manufacturing date to the one he bought at the weekend.
 
Mine starting doing what yours did Peahead whilst playing obilivion a few days ago. It only happened a couple of times so i thought it'd be alright but its now doing it everytime i get into a game. Theres a thread on AVForums with many people having the same problem, mostly with consoles bought at launch and made in October like mine. I phoned Microsoft this morning thinking it would be the best thing to do and because i'd heard most people weren't getting refurbs they were getting new ones with quieter disk drives, I also felt it would be easier they having to arrange sending it back to gameplay. So mines going to an MS repair center next week with its HDD, which i've been assured will come back to me :) i hope with a brand new 360 containing quiter drive

They are linked to your Xbox Live! account not your Xbox HDD. You will still have all the points.
 
What are your guys manufacture dates? Want to figure out when the bad dates are, mine is 20th January, so touch wood it should be ok!

Fingers crossed for you mate, because my friend didn#t get his original HD back. They just sent him a new console.
 
still waiting for my returns form to arrive so i can send my 360 to m$ how long does it take them i rang the up on sunday and she said we will send them in the post its now wed. :mad:

I've given up with Microsoft Support.

Rang last Monday and was told form was on it's way. Rang on Thursday last week and told been an internal error and will send again. Customer rep assured me they would be with my by Tuesday 18th (Yesterday). Didn't arrive so I rang Microsoft up again and was told that they'd sort forms out for a third time. I told them I had had enough and rang Gameplay up and explained situation. Gameplay arranged a courier for today and it arrived as stated. They said they would replace it asap. Rang Microsoft Customer support up to ask how I go about sorting out the extended warranty I took out as it is tied to my now dead console and they said they weren't sure if I could switch it to the new one when it arrived. I've asked them for their address and have written a letter explaining that I feel that I haven't been treated particularly well. Will see what happens. :(

God that doesnt sound good i bet your ****** off i am and i have only been waiting 2 days i hope you get it sorted soon Bilbo. i will give it a few more days then will get on the phone to m$ and try again but i wont hold my breath
