All over the world...
Just turned on my bros 360 here in Canada a few mins ago and it seems like his 360 is flashing 3 rings at us...the only one that isnt flashing is the upper right quadrant. All other rings are flashing red....so i take it the 360 is dead??.

Sadly hes only got the one yr warranty and its definitely out of that warranty period. We have tried taking all the cables out and re-seating them but to no avail....

A bit gutted but then we were kinda expecting it i suppose, with it being a launch day console and all but i take it the 3 flashing rinsg of lights means its more or less dead in the water so to speak??.

Was looking forward to some 360 gaming today but thanks to the 360, we cant:(

Hehe tried that trick but no go:(....looking at Icebus post about the error codes on the 360...it seems from his method we are getting the 0020 error code...which is unknown and possibly overheating. Which is strange as the 360 is kept in a cool ventilated space ie air conditioned room...well his whole house is centrally air conditioned. So cant see how its overheating if it is...hmmm

he has a 3 years warranty for 3 red lights, they all do don't they?

I dont really know as his is a Canadian 360 so it might be different here. not sure but will have to ring M$ up and find out...hes actually ringing them now to see what they have to say.

Hes thinking of going out to buy an elite now. might ditch this faulty one unless M$ fix it free of charge.

I think its world wide.

Well if thats the case then thats good but knowing my bro, impatient that he is....i think we are just going to go out and buy a new one..probably the elite model if anything.

Knowing M$ it will take them a good few weeks before they send us out a replacement one and my bro wont bother waiting lol.

EDIT: Just been told by M$ that is indeed covered by the 3 yr warranty. But god knows how long it will take them to get a replacement one out to us. So i guess we are off to buy the elite and once we get get the replacement one, he will just sell it to a friend of his..

Don't ditch it, you can find guides on the internet to modify it yourself to make it work, worth a shot if you are going to ditch it.

Well M$ are emailing the shipping labels over to his email addy, so will print them off and package it up for collection, which hopefully should be tom morning i think.

Once he gets it back, he will sell it to his friend as hes been after the elite and says that this is the perfect excuse to get one:p...will match his black plasma screen and AV setup.

Sounds like the GPU or CPU has had it. MS will deal with it, so don't open it, you should be able to get their customer support phone number from the Candian version of Xbox.com - if he doesn't mind using the US number I think it's 1800-MYXBOX

[edit having read the whole thread]

Turnaround time in North America is currently about 3-4 weeks iirc.

Yeah thats what the guy said on the phone, about 3-4 weeks which kinda sucks really. Anyways got ourselves a brand spanking new elite unit, have to say its much quieter than the premium that just went belly up. Also having HDMI makes things a tad more easier, connection wise that is for my bro.

Looks nice and hopefully this one wont break...am kinda worried about my 360 now lol, hopefully when i get back home it will still be running...seriously considering trading it in for the elite when i get back to the UK:p.

Mine is doing the same.

Crashes while in the dashboard and when I reboot the 3 red rings appear.

If I leave the console off for 15mins, it works again, so it's evidently a heat issue. :(

Don't know what to do, as I have to play Halo 3 on launch day with my friends over XBox Live - should I send it back now or leave it and hope it works come Halo 3...

I just bought my friend a new premium 2 weeks ago, starting to wish I had that one now!!

That's what I was thinking, could I do this or would this be classed as fraud (which I wouldn't want to do)?

Depends on if the place you bought it from wrote down the serial number...if htey havent then you should be ok. As long as they didnt write down any info that pertains to your mates 360 then id just take it back for an exchange.

Might try it over the weekend, hopefully when I go home tonight the thing doesn't crash again like last night. I tried it this morning before work, and it booted so it has to be some sort of heat issue.

Unfortunately as well the wireless adaptor cannot get an IP Address from my linksys wireless router. Worked fine on the Thursday and doesn't work now.

Fails everytime, and I have renewed and refreshed the DHCP list on the router. My problems are never ending it seems!

M$ sent mine back saying warranty was void due to me cutting the plastic grills off the back in an attempt to make it quieter.

So I tried the x-clamp mod and that didn't work :(

So therefore I've decided on my trip to go buy an elite I'm going to run over it with the car :D
