3 red rings flashing

my 360 died today, bought november 2006, not used it a great deal. Annoyed that i couldn't get the big catalogue store to replace it so will have to send it off. out of interest has anyone managed to get the reseller to replace the console outside of 30 days? The catalogue store were having none of it and microsoft wanted it sent to them.
 
1st year it's return to the retailer kempy....something to do with the law and all :o

search for a thread about the sale of goods act which should give you a little ammo :)
 
M$ sent mine back saying warranty was void due to me cutting the plastic grills off the back in an attempt to make it quieter.

So I tried the x-clamp mod and that didn't work :(

So therefore I've decided on my trip to go buy an elite I'm going to run over it with the car :D

Did you put new thermal paste on it?

but under sale of goods act it states that they can offer to repair or replace, therefore if they offer to repair they are following the act?

If they offer to repair it I understand they have to deal with it inside the year. Including the repair option.

The one person who could answer this is sadly banned however :/

well they offered to phone microsoft for me to arrange pick up for me. Told them i will sort it myself. When i spoke with microsoft they kept going on about how it needs to be sent to them and the shop shouldnt replace it.
 
Talking to the MS rep that came to work again yesterday the 360's have a 2 year warranty and 3 year for the 3 red light issue. If they repair the 3 red light problem for you, that repair then gets a new 3 year warranty from time of repair.

So if you get really unlucky and you 360 keeps brekaing down your pretty much certain to get it repaired providing its within 3 years of the last break down.

I purchased mine in Sept 06 and it died in April 07.
The retailer replaced it for me without a quibble.

what is the UK number for customer services to arrange a repair?

I have been searching and searching and cannot find it!!

Someone be a dear and post it :)
