3 red rings flashing

Okay, just got my dad to try it in the North of this Ireland, he says that he gets a recorded message saying to phone back in business hours.

My UK phone doesn't seem to want to play ball whilst I'm in Dublin to phone freephone numbers.

Cheers!

All I can recommend is that you unhook everything and give it a good diagnoising.

Unhook HDD, DVD drive, controllers and anything else that's not needed to boot.

Get a different 360 and try swaping some components (cpu, etc) see if it'll boot ... also give the towel trick a try, I NEVER usually recommend this but if nothing else works it's worth the try if it boots chances are you've got dodgy solder if not keep looking around, check the motherboard for connectors, bent or snapped. I would advise you do this out of the 360 case also.

Try it with a different power supply and make sure you anit using surge protectors ... also is your console NTSC or do you have a travel adaptor?

Worked for me today. Make sure you ring before 10pm on a weekday.

That's what I was thinking, could I do this or would this be classed as fraud (which I wouldn't want to do)?

not advisable

and im not on a moral high horse or anything, ive just got no doubt that the Xbox will have a manufacturing year in the Serial Number. I work for an IT services company, and i know the format of the serial numbers of all the printers we provide

when they have a warranty for a printer they bought in 2006, and return a printer that was manufactured in 2004, questions get asked

unless your Xbox is allmost as new as the one you bought your friend, i wouldnt do it as you may get caught.

Yip thought this through, not going to bother. It's unethical to do it, and seeing as though my Xbox is a launch day, I'd be caught rather quickly!

Going to buy a core or a premium over the weekend, and send the other one premium back to the repair center, as I need to play Halo 3 when it comes out ;)

Probably just sell the repaired one on.

I didnt realise UPS would arrive so quickly. I only rang MS last night. Just been running round like a madman. Luckily I already had a box to use, but in the end I had to use Morrisons carrier bags for bubblewrap lol.

Great ****ing great:mad::(...well now my launch day console has done the exact same thing that my bros in Canada did..the 3 flashing rings of death:(.

Oh well guess its time to make the call to M$ and get them to fix it i suppose...arghhhh was looking forward to some gaming later tonight, seeing as i got Stranglehold, Bioshock which i havent finished off and NFL MAdden 08 which i havent even really touched other than a few games with my bro in Canada last week.

Guess ill be waiting 4 weeks before i get my 360 back....damn you M$:(...although i could use my youngest bros 360 which is sat in the living room and hasnt been played with since he moved back in...far too busy with Lord of Rings on his PC :p.
