this is my first post but have been reading arround the forum about a week now, but the more i read the more confused i get.
what i would like to do is get a tripple screen rig, mainly for working on photoshopping and video editing, but would like the option to play games should i want to. reading arround i have seen programs that will put a task bar on the bottom of each screen and any open windows are displayed on the relavant task bar this it the effect im after so i can drag programs (ie photoshop, lightroom, internet explorer to dirrfent screens) reading around im not sure if one or two gpu's would be best, but i would like SSD for the os, i7 for the video editing(not sure about overclocking) liquid cooling for the looks ;) and 16gb ram.

i would like a case with a side window and the inside to look awsome as the machine will be on top of the desk and i would like to be able to look inside it.

so please could someone spec me a machine that meets these specs.i have £3000 to spend and could maybe push a little more if it really is worth it.
i need EVERYTHING less an os i have win7 64bit ultimate already.
thanks and sorry for the long first post.

For the programs, the best is UltraMon, but there are free alternatives, such as Zbar or DisplayFusion

For triple-screen gaming, you'll need quite a bit of horsepower, and graphics cards able to do it.

You could go AMD, and you would only need 1 graphics card, but getting two in Crossfire will assist with performance.

For nVidia, you will need 2 graphics cards to drive 3 monitors together for gaming.

How large do you want each monitor to be? Once you've got the monitors sorted, then you can distribute the rest around the other components.

photoshop + video editing = Nvidia to me. just a shame the new cards arent out for a while yet

apart from the monitors (which i know little about) this is what i'd recommend:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i7-3930K 3.20GHz (Sandybridge-E) Socket LGA2011 Processor - OEM £479.99

Total : £2,846.15 (includes shipping : £32.90).

i really was struggling to find a sensible use for the extra money. perhaps a sound card or better monitors

its also worth considering watercooling for this budget (in which case the £395 Zotac 3GB GTX 580 would be the graphics card of choice). ive only recommended air because i know nothing about watercooling

thanks for the reply, i suppose 3 x 20 or 22 inch would be ample, im currently using a 17 inch laptop. but to be honest im not really sure so could i just say if you were making it for yourself what would you go for.

when i done my eyefinity the biggest challenge was finding monitors in my orice range with thin bezzels and decent size.

went with 3 21" samsung e2220

i dont think i will be using the monitors to game on that often.
maybe a racing game like f1 or dirt. would the bezzel matter that much. i quite like the spec listed above but as suggested i think maybe i could liquid cool the gpu's to and maybe have enough left over for some good speakers, a tablet and screen calibrator.

If your running tipple monitors don't forget a monitor stand.

I own 2 Ergotron LX Tripple stands (one at work and one at home). Would never never ever go back to having free standing monitors. I would give up extra CPU cores, memory and SSD before I ever gave up these, do not underestimate how important a a good stand is.

OCUK if your reading your missing out NOT selling monitor stands!

I'd definitely get a custom watercooling loop in there for your CPU and as many graphics cards as you decide to use - if you're using the PC every day don't underestimate how much nicer it is having it almost silent!
