What ati cards?.
In theory it'll work but your case will need to have 8 expansion slots on the rear, you'll block the connectors along the edge of the motherboard and the cards will get rather toasty.

I have no more unused PCIE cabel connectors on the PSU unit.
Can i use this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-018-AK&groupid=1929&catid=153&subcat= and connect to a PCIE cabel that is already connected to a Hard Drive.

Remember that the 3rd lane's speed is x1 when using the 1st and 2nd slot. Got the same board as you.
PCI-E power cables don't connect to hard drives.
Your power supply has 2 x 6+2pin and 2 x 6 pin PCI-E power cables.
For 3 HD 5870's you'll need to make up another 2 x 6 pin cables with molex adapters.

no need to buy the adapters, they should be in the graphics card box.
He's got 2 HD 5870's so he should already have the adapters.
It's not the PSU that I see being an issue.
It's how the cards would fit on the motherboard.
Yeah the card will fit, ive had a sim setup with cards like that but he will need a case with 8 pci slots on back or able to over hang the last card like i have, also depending on the cards and fan size may need to cut his power switch,reset etc jumper plugs down in size as the card will sit on them.. :s

Which is exactly what I said at post #7.
Which I also agree with, seems a bit of a hassle. Also, remember Trifire often isn't as optimised as CF. I'm not sure it's worth it. Especially since VRAM will become the noticeable bottleneck.
