I'm thinking about building a 3 way sli system, are the performance gains of 3 8800ULTRAs over 3 8800GTXs really worth it? cos im not sure whether to go for the gtx or ultra.

The performance gains of the 3rd card full stop are not all that good over SLI but if i was going to build a tri sli system them i would go the full hog and get the ULTRAs
But you would be better off to get 2x GeForce 9800 GX2 in SLI so u will have 4 gpu's

Plus, you'd have some spare PCI slot(s) so Quad SLi would be better...when the drivers are released.
