Well expect this it has subbass.
. These have a cool sub woofer effect on your ears. You will know what I mean once you get some tunes with impact and extension on em... It will vibrate your outer earlobes.. Though I do have one warning. These sound terrible out of box.. These change more so than most after just one night of burning. The mids are harsh from open box. But once everything smooths out. I think you will be impressed as I was. Oh and these would have that bigger sound stage you was looking for in a closed can. Call it a haunch but I had a feeling you would snap up one of these. lol.
I just did a head to head against my Cals and your observations are correct they do have similar style of bass as the Denons impact and extension.. The panasonics do have a bit bigger punch than the Cals but very similar in extension. I would say the bass is a bit less than the kickers but I wouldn't call that lacking..
After listening to these for a time the Bass is on a whole other level.. The warm bass these produce has similarities to the XB500 which many consider top bass phone..Crazy good.
$29 at Amazon.
To be fair, they're actually a $60 headphone, and that reflects the price in EU too apparently. It's just Amazon warehouse must be full of them so they literally slashed it 50%. It's such a good headphone, I'd buy it for $60 no questions asked too though. I'd buy it as a $150 headphone. After that, well, I start to have different options. But at $150 and under, this thing freaking competes for musical warmth and just outstandingly fun to listen to.
Very best,
The panasonics are very warm and bassy. They're comfortable stock. I've been wearing them for two days now and I'm pretty picky, so these are quite decently comfortable. Not too much clamp, but not so loose that they flop around. No amplification at all needed. You can plug it into anything and go. Just make sure your GF's source audio is high quality, even though this headphone will be forgiving to low bitrate compressed audio, you still want to give her a proper gift by also making sure she has some very high quality music to listen to.
Very best,
Get a Pansonic HTF600- S...Absolutely get the Panasonics.. After you get them and discover them. Get more to throw on your friends and then have them guess how much they cost.
BTW, MalVeauX, do you organize your list on your signature based on preference?
So the Pannys are in front of all of those: KNS6400, SR850, HP541, MHP-839, ESW9, AD700, AD500, XB500, UR55, HD448
If so... that's quite good for a $30 can!
Well let me just say. If you got these Panasonics first and then got your Hfi-580s.. There is a very good chance you might have sent the HFI-580 back.. I am not kidding.. I just did a head to head. I think perhaps the coolest aspect of the sound design on these Panasonics. The BASS acoustics are on another level than most headphones I have used. While the HFI-580 does have impressive mid bass punch and good bass presence..
The Panasonics are one step above them in Bass dynamics while enveloping you in the Bass sounds.. That is the best way to describe it...It is like the S-logic surround on the Ultrasones focus on the entire surround sound.. These Panasonics sound like the highs and Bass surrounds you while the mids are on your ear..
Resulting in a very fun listening experience... Even if you do end up getting your HFI-580...I would consider trying out these Panasonics..$30 bucks? I think I spent that much on some burgers and fries for my kids the other day. They have taken over almost a 100% of my headphone time..
Oh one last thing I forgot to mention.. These Pansonics have virtually no discomfort...Unlike the Ultrasones.
Well lets just say.. You are gonna love these phones..If you read what Malveaux wrote on his XB500 review. You know he is a serious Bass head.. I can assure you these Panasonics are the real deal.. We was chatting and he mention to me how much you would appreciate this headphone.. I think so too... In fact anyone that has an affinity toward not just Bass but a great fun sounding headphone that does everything right.. These are worth more than what Panasonic is asking for .. Malveaux is not kidding when he mentions these stack up to $150 ones. I have a $230 heaphone in my collection that doesn't do what these does. Wait till more guys chime in don't just take our word for it.. Try n find one, I am willing to bet you it will be one of the best phone purchases of this year for you..
all quoted from headfi another quote would be it is anything but boring.
This probably has been done about 30 times in this post, so sorry if you guys are re-reading this.
I just got my ATH-M50s in the mail. I have very little experience with headphones, but to my untrained ears, they sound awesome! Right out of the box, powerful bass, good mids and highs a little bright, but can be easily equalized.
What surprised me is that for kicks, I put back on my HTF600s... and... they are not that much different! I actually find the bass on the HTF600s a little more precise. Apart from build quality (the M50's seem army grade) it is amazing how much sound value one can get with the HTF600s.
Now I am buying the Monoprice DJ headphones next. I am wondering if they will be as good?
