Hey all, its been a while.

I've got a photo that I want to print at 30"x20" and was just wondering what the best resolution and size would be.

It's a jpeg file with a size of 2538x1695 and a resolution of 72 pixels/inch.

Is it ok as it is? or would it be best to adjust the res and if so hows the best way to do it? I have cs3 and was going to get the print done by photobox.

cheers guys.

Hmm that res seems a bit low?

I can't remember the exact res but I've done similar size prints, when I can get on my machine (sister is using it right now) I'll check it for you :)

It would be better to manually resample the image to something like 200PPI and then apply sharpening etc.

If you print as is, it may not look that great.

Also, I think you've miscalculated. It'll be 84PPI for a 2538x1695 image printed 30"x20".

Edit: Resample the image to 6000x4007 that'll give you 200PPI for 30" wide print.

If I change the resolution to 200 I get this.

am I right in thinking bicubic smoother would be best? If this is ok I was just going to do a high pass sharpen then save as a jpeg and send it off.

thanks again.
