£300 budget for SIM free Android phone - recommendations please

Regarding warranty that will be based on the origin of the phone.

If it's a EU model Xiaomi phone it will have 2 year warranty which would require you to ship it to a location in EU but if they are Chinese models you would need to send it back to China all these are at your own cost also warranty varies based on origin country.

The other thing make sure you purchase from authorized seller otherwise they wont cover it no matter the country.

MI/Xiaomi do have store on Ali express they tend to be bit more expensive.

Poco X3 or Poco F2 Pro (X3 doesn't have 5g but currently up for pre order mi.com for around £200 which is UK version)

but who are you going to contact? imo, asume no warranty and have relevent insurance ready, which is cheap as chips anyway

What do you mean about contact?

The warranty is with Xiaomi you go through them if its UK/EU/Chinese you go through the one based on the phones country (they have it all on databases for phones for each territory)

Not sure what you are on about regarding insurance either that is another added cost and far from being as cheap as chips otherwise everyone would have it.

Sending a phone back to China isn't the easiest of tasks. My phone insurance is £13 a month for me and all my family's phones too. With the same insurance I also get holiday insurance for the family and breakdown cover for the family. So yeah, cheap as chips.

Don't buy the Chinese version it costs £0 for return and repairs if you go for UK one.

So your insurance (Nationwide I take it) has no excess and they will just replace the Chinese phone for the same one no they wont otherwise people would abuse it and I had that insurance it was garbage when trying to put in claims.

It's simple buy the UK/EU model you are covered by 2 years warranty no extra costs and the phones only tend to cost maybe £20 more compared to Chinese ones with current deals.

That's it done with this subject which was nothing to do with original posters question anyway.

You quoted my post about me talking about buy for China. Now your talking about something else.

If my phone breaks. Nationwide will fix it. The excess is £50 and my Chinese phone was £150 cheaper that a UK version.
