Hello again im back again for some invaluable help building a mid spec gaming system.

the pc will be used for light gaming for my sons 14th birthday.

I have £300 absolute max to spend and would like a system build around the intel pentium k anniversary chip and r9 270 2gb.

Everything is needed for the build apart from HDD keyboard and monitor.

I would like to order these asap.

thanks in advance.

If you want a Pentium K and a 270 build you're probably gonna have to go £350 or second hand for some parts

I suppose i could stretch the extra 50 isf needed. but that build looks great to me with all included.

will the psu be sufficient?

this card can be had for £85
Asus AMD Radeon R9 270 DC2OC-2GD5 2GB
used but in great condition with 6 months warrenty.

have also found
SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 280 Dual-X OC with Boost Graphics Card £115

can i just mention also, his gaming needs does not have to ultra or high settings, medium would be just fine for his needs.
i have 2x 120gb corsair force gt sata 3 ssd im planning to raid 0 for it and a 2x 1tb hdd for raid0 as secondry gaming storage.

Why would you need to RAID 0?

Surely on a machine of this caliber, those speeds are wasted.

Just run normal SSD+HD and save yourself the risk of data loss

wow that build is awsome could you try add in motherboard that would support a small overclock for an extra £25 or would that be capable

Actually that build would be just fine ive just checked a few videos and it will play bf4 on high settings np with 0 AA etc.

thanks mate quick and easy can order today :)

If you're not overclocking then the pentium k offers no advantage over the cheaper G3420 (to be honest if considering this I'd personally probably then pick the cheaper still G3220)

it just gives me the option to get a mobo that supports overclocking before i push the button and buy.

What games do you want to play, light gaming could mean a 30 minutes BF4 session or Bejewelled HD all day?

Just seen you mentioned BF4, I'd probably drop settings to medium if you want it smooth @ 1080p.
The Pentium is a great chip when it's overclocked like max, at stock I'm not 100% sure of it's potential.

He plays games like cod mw3, ghosts, black ops. Those Telltale games The Walking Dead etc and would be perfectly happy playing low/medium settings @1080p

The above build is spot on although ill be swapping out the Aerocool Qs-200 Lite Midi Tower Case for the BitFenix Neos ATX Tower Black/Red and getting the Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 280X DUAL-X OC 3GB which can had elsewhere for a tantalizing £119 BNIB :)

With a Corsair Force 3 GT SSD it should run great @ 4.2-4ghz @ mostly medium @1080p wouldn't you agree?

Many thanks again, one can never go wrong with the hep provided here.
