Judging by the reviews, your friend might be right to some extent. I'm still gonna watch it and probably enjoy it a lot though.

I've just seen this tonight!!
One of the most amazing movies I have ever seen! Every shot is like a piece of art.
But! Whatever you do, see it on a huge screen or Imax, it was filmed to be watched that way and it makes it just incredible.

Saw the trailers for this last night whilst watching Ghostrider, which incidentally is a pile of crap tbh. Great special effects though but not much else unless you like Eva Mendes who looks like a man imho...great body and a cracking set of norks.
But anyways looks like a good movie this 300, cant wait to see it.

I'll be seeing it again next week when it's on general release with friends who couldn't make it tonight.
Saw it last week, absolutely fantastic trashy meaningless entertainment; and I mean that in a good way The visual effects are outstanding. Only problem could be the script being a bit weak at points; I guess thats just what happens when you slavishly stick to the graphic novel.
