301 Redirect Problem

hi im having a problem, i have a 301 redirect setup like this:

redirect 301 /bodog.html http://www.bodoglife.com/welcome/143658/poker/

when i goto

http://www.thepokerplaza.com/bodog.html

i get to the bodog site but its a different url than if i would just type in http://www.bodoglife.com/welcome/143658/poker/ to the address bar.

Anyone shed some light? as i dont think im getting my referral credits.
